Canvas heart and diecut cogs heart.

Hi everyone, boy am I scraping in late to a few challenges! It's ok the midnight candles are burning lol!

I'm linking up these 2 cards to the Twofer Challenge, where the theme is hearts.
You need to use the same diecut or stamp in 2 different designs and for 2 different occasions.

I was asked to make a heart card with cogs in it and had to check the pic when I made it last time to see how to fit them all in! Here's a look at just that card.

I diecut a heart into  the centre of a piece of card then embossed it with a woodgrain texture plate.
I covered the diecut heart in diecut cogs. they are cut from a Johnnie Walker scotch carton, which is red, so no need to colour the cogs!
The sentiment is from a retired set by Annabelle Stamps.

I'm also linking this card up to the paint it red challenge at Stamplorations,

and the heart challenge at Outside the Box. I've used Memory Box antique gear set and mini gears dies.

It's anything goes at Happy Little Stampers dies challenge,

and at Less is More they are celebrating their 7th birthday with a dry embossing theme. The woodgrain texture is very subtle so I'm hoping it's CAS enough.

Here's a closer look at the canvas heart card.

I used a scribbles stencil with some distress oxide inks on a sheet from a canvas pad. Love the rough texture it has. I diecut it using the same heart die as the cogs card.

I'm linking this card up to the CAS mixup card challenge where the theme was to use canvas, cork or felt.
My elements are canvas, stamping, stencilling and diecutting.

Supplies:
Cogs card: Mpress heart dies; Memory Box antique gear set and mini gears dies; Papertrey Ink woodgrain texture plate; Annabelle Stamps wedding medallion sentiment stamp; versafine ink & clear ep.
Canvas card: Mpress heart dies; Monte Marte canvas pad; distress oxide inks: TH scribbles layering stencil; Spellbinders card creator A2 curved borders one die; Annabelle Stamps wedding medallion sentiment stamp.

Thanks for visiting, and for staying through such a long post!

Two fabulous designs using your heart die cut! I really love the blend of colors in your canvas hearts and also that cogs heart looks amazing -so much detail yet a very clean design. Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!

Such fantastic designs, Cathy! I love the magnificent texture on both of them! The canvas adds so much interest to the already beautifully stenciled heart for the Congrats card and you raised it another notch with that sweet lacy panel! And your cogs cut from a Scotch carton is such a cool way to recycle and be efficient and achieve brilliant color all at the same time! And I love the fact that it was a puzzle to figure out!! Thank you so much for playing along in Twofer Card Challenge #2! Hugs, Darnell

Two deliciously contrasting cards, Cathy! The first is crisp, texture-y, bold and wonderfully masculine ... the second is soft, dreamy and delicate with a lovely velvety-ness to the sponged canvas heart! So happy to have you playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

Your heart cards are both beautiful! Even though they are both CAS they do look very different! Love the woodgrain surrounding the cog-filled heart and that you recycled a Johnny Walker carton to cut them out! The other card looks soft and pretty, the addition of the little heart is a sweet idea!
Thanks for joining us at the Twofer!

A big WOW to how you made that awesome heart card with the cogs. It's totally amazing with the cogs placed so perfectly. Love the background giving it that extra oooomph.
Gorgeous canvas hearts with such soft colours. Love the simple layout and the die cut behind them. Didn't get to play this month at the Twofer as I was away for quite a bit of this month. Fabulous challenge isn't it.

Two very creative designs, Cathy! How can you fit all those cogs so perfectly in the heart!? Amazing! And the cogs are from scotch carton! The second canvas stenciled card is so soft and elegant, a totally different look from the first card. The curved border die-cut gives a nice movement to the hearts. Hideko xx
