Silver & Blue Star

Hi, I wanted to create a card for the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More where they have this gorgeous photo for inspiration.

I stamped a Judikins star stamp that I've had for quite a few years onto a glossy calendar page. The picture was a sailing boat with a cloudy sky, so I managed to fit the star onto the blue sky parts.
I used Versacolor silver ink and fine detail silver embossing powder and  popped a sequin into the centre for some more sparkle. The embossing folder is one I used at my sisters, I think it's a cuttlebug snowflake one.

I'm also going to link up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme is to keep your card Clean & Simple. The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to use ink.

Thanks for visiting :)

Hi Cathy, the layered up star embossed in silver on blue looks so pretty on the lovely white embossing and the sequin is the perfect finishing touch.

Stunning card with a fab star. Liked it even more so when I read you had used the glossy calendar. I've been saving pretty calendar pics for a while, just to use for something. Also saw a blog where the cardmaker was using glossy magazine pictures, removing color with acetone (fingernail polish remover) and making gorgeous things. This is really beautiful, & good for you in your recycling so wonderfully well. TFS & Hugs
